My experience of old cantilevers is that the screw that goes through the "Trevor" can strip the threads if, as on mine, the screw goes directly into the brake arm which itself is threaded. But the good news surely is that the cantilevers themselves are easily replaceable and cheap as chips (if not free ) so there's no problem for an old bike. Am I right on this?
