Fsa bb30 cranksets

Postby Rossco8854 » 21 Apr 2018, 9:52pm

Considering upgrading my cannondale FSA Gossamer BB30 50/34 crankset and just wondering if anyone has any ideas for me?

Upgrading for what reason? Upgrading one single component is unlikely to make any discernable difference in weight or functionality unless the part you start with is total dross.
Supporter of the A10 corridor cycling campaign serving Royston to Cambridge http://a10corridorcycle.com. Never knew gardening secateurs were an essential part of the on bike tool kit until I took up campaigning.....

Stick with FSA. Their new 386 crank standard fits pretty much every BB shell out there, including your existing BB30 or PF30 shell. Means your crank will not likely become 'out-moded' in the future.
I should coco.

To be fair, there's no much improvement to be done with a BB30 arrangement :(
It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best,
since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.
Thus you remember them as they actually are...

Just find It very creaky and squeaky compared to my tiagra, I've heard the bb30 is famous for squeaking. Not really weight or performance minded.

I'll have a look, just finding the bike very creaky and squeaky, a wee bit off putting!!

I swapped my BB30 for a Praxis sleeve and cheap Deore external BB. No squeak or grind. Solid feel and peace of mind for years.

You might instead consider a 'downgrade' to a sealed cartridge bottom bracket using a bb30 converter, if your aim is to stop the squeaking.

Hi
Mine starting squeking after 700 miles.
Just took it apart and put a bit of grease on it...3,000 miles later still prefect.
