Ergon gp1 grips slipping

Post by Fraz101 »

Hi

My new bike came with the above grips, however one side has started to slip round.

They have a bolt at the end of them which I have endured is tight.

What could I do to stop them slipping round when cycling?

Remove grips, borrow some of your wife's hair spray.
spray in side the grips. reinstall grips and leave them for a day or so.

Unscented super hold salon grade suggested.

I've got those grips. When I've had them off and put them back on they slide on almost all the way and you think they're right on when they aren't quite. The last few mills are where the collar is, so if they aren't all the way on they might slide around becasue they're not actually gripping the handlebar. I'd give that a check before sticking them with anything. Sticking them will stop them moving, but if you want to take them off to change your brake levers or gear levers you'll need to cut them. And they're expensive.

One side is rock solid but the other just won’t stay tight.

I’ve had both back off and checked there on correctly and still the same

Edit just figured it out.

Had to adjust my brake and gear lever inwards by 10mm as it was only 120mm length instead of the reunited 130mm.

All good now thankfully.

Cheers
