1mm taper in the dropouts is in frame/axle breaking territory. You can sort this out with a big adjustable spanner, or by putting the dropouts into a bench vice one at a time.

I'm a bit worried about the accuracy of using the vice, if the tolerance is that low. Similarly with big spanner, plus wondering how easy that approach would be with the Campag cast dropouts & 3 stays. My head is thinking I'll be bending this way & then that way & ditto with the other dropout and not get more accurately set having bent them back & fore a few times.
Vice would seem more easy to control than a spanner. So any tips on approach with the vice.
(I presume each drop out is equally out...so the bend each side need to be equal).
(I had been trying to work out how to bodge up an alignment too with threaded rod.... but I have a bench vice)
