Garmin Edge Explore GPS Cycling Computer

Post by carlislemike »

Hi, Anyone have this or have experience with this? Is it worth the £215.00 aged for it on Wiggle? Ease to upload maps or use onboard maps plus Battery life would be the areas that matter. Many thanks, Mike

Got my wife the 820 Explore. I use Bikemap.net to plan routes - very easy and can recommend it - I export the route as a .gpx file (standard feature in bikemap) and download to the Garmin either via the Garmin Basecamp software on my PC via usb or import into Garmin Connect on my mobile and then via bluetooth; haven't had any problems so far. The device has had the one blip requiring the engineering solution of a switch off and switch on :D but has only happened once in 15 trips so far. Battery life is a around 8 hours with the display on, should be a fair bit more in "power save" mode.
I'd happily recommend it. Paid €250 a couple of months ago.
