Old campag nuovo record derailleur clashing with largest sprocket

Post by iain.bowran »

I have an old campag nuovo record derailleur. It doesn’t have the b screw that you would use to adjust the height of the jockey wheel. Hence the jockey wheel runs into the rear sprocket. Does anyone know how I can overcome this problem?

What is the size of the largest sprocket?
The older I get the more I’m inclined to act my shoe size, not my age.

when mounted on a campag dropout the largest sprocket is nominally 26T for a NR rear mech. This capacity can be reduced considerably when the RD is mounted on another style of dropout.

If the RD cage is not sufficiently vertical then adding a tab washer between the mech and the dropout can alter the mech position. IIRC the kind of tab washer that holds front hubs into some front forks can be modified to do this job.

cheers

Thanks for the replies. Have been away so a bit slow in replying myself. Will try the tab washer option Brucey. Thanks
