My ankles are bony and low, such that they bump uncomfortably against the stiff edges of many cycling shoes.
I was wondering if I could use an insole that is raised at the heel (and only the heel) to fix this problem. Half a centimetre might make all the difference. I have low feet (like a duck’s) so should have enough room to do this.
Any thoughts about this plan and suggestions for a product?
Insoles to raise ankle height
Re: Insoles to raise ankle height
Haha! I have this problem with certain footwear , not of cycling issue, but being leather, a generous manipulation of ankle area of boot with brooks proofide , soften said leather and no more problems.
I don't know the answer to this ,but its worth a try for sure, cheap gel heel pads can be bought quite readily, of make some out of old insoles. but if it raises your heel, then you'll have less support to the arch of your foot, and the laces/strapping will have to alter as your foot will be higher. But do cut up some old insoles and try it, nothing lost, then report back. 'Nothing ventured........'
