Aluminium is renowned for being noisy though.
Especially in conjuction with hard pumped tyres on small wheels.

Yeah, it's only £90, and that's only a night or two out down the pub.
Noise? I doubt it'd be much different on my TSR.

I still balk at the cost.
Fudges know how to charge! The normal chromoplastic ones are £70 there, but only £30odd normally.

PS:
I know the front stays need bending to get past the front suspension. This is one of the excuses that Fudges use for the high cost.
DIY bending is fine, coz I've done it when I fitted an extra set of stays at the front as the Fudges ones only come with one pair and the front mudguard snaps. Since repaired.

Go for it Mick, they look nice and money spent on bikes is seldom regretted I find.

I bought a rear suspension rebuild kit from them previously - and was pleased with their price and service - unlike Fudges

I would think that water and spray would come out the sides.

As for DIY wooden ones, I don't think I could make a neat enough job. It's the little things that make the job neat, like stays and fittings etc.

Personally, I would like to do away with mudguards altogether, but living where we do, and riding a small-wheeled bike, mudguards are a necessity. I'm ok with Mercian in the better weather without 'guards, but Moulton needs them 12months of the year as all you need is a damp road, and yuk! it's all over the thing.

I still fancy the shine alu ones.

They might be too wide for a caliper braked TSR frame with Shimano R650 DPs ?

Which is why the expensive Moulton alu ones are probably best suited to 28mm tyres and DP brakes, as they're much narrower
