Pashley Picador front wheel

Post by dmpl »

Hi, I am a total newbie to this forum and cycling in general.

My question is how do I remove the front wheel of my recently purchased second (fourth?) hand Pashley Picador tricycle?
I need to do this as the front tyre needs replacing but I have utterly no experience and I don't want to mess it up.

Thanks

unhook the brake cable end from the brake arm (bottom of the image above) (if necessary back off the barrel adjuster first). The barrel adjuster assembly should slide out of its mounting slot, allowing the whole cable assy to come free from the brake without any tools. Then undo the axle nuts and the wheel should come free.

When remounting the wheel, make sure that the brake reaction arm is properly engaged in the fork braze-on (or clip as in the upper photo).

The tang on the reaction arm should be long enough that it starts in the slot before the axle goes into the fork ends.
Tighten the axle nuts, then reinstall the brake cable. Adjust the brake to your preference.

That's it, you are done.

cheers
