n+1 ladies Kettler Alu-Rad one-position dropouts

Post by Cyril Haearn »

Just got n+1 for free, a silver Kettler Alu-Rad, ladies mixte, very light maybe 10 kg, the neighbours offered it free to a good home, almost rideable now if I pump up the tyres and oil the chain

6-speed derailleur but one-position dropouts, nice chainset and centre-pull brakes
Ideally I would like to ride it fixed, what can I do, magic gear, half link?

Suggestions please, thanks very much

Cycling-of course, but it is far better on a Gillott

technically there are ways of making this work, but they are not easy and/or perfect solutions. If you really want to run fixed gear, why not get a frameset which is better suited to it? The only attraction of this frame is that it is 'free'. Well it won't be 'free' any more by the time you have faffed about with it....?

cheers
