Cleaning the bike and the chain

Post by vat1666firerates1 »

Cleaning the bike and the chain

I clean my cycle and transmission with Duck Smart Earth Mover

https://uk.redbrain.shop/search?q=Duck+ ... imEALw_wcB

I find on the cycle it does a good job cleaning, but I was thinking if that regarding the transmission
the chain, freewheel/cassettes and jockey wheels something else would do a better job?

I do use Mick F method of using old milk container and shake the chain in the digressesor.

I was thinking of using 99% Non-Sterile IPA Isopropanol (Isopropyl) Alcohol

MY CRITERIA
Effectiveness of cleaning
Safety
Cost
Environmental considerations

if you use white spirit it doesn't evaporate too fast, often cleans better (depending on what chain lube you use) and can be re-used.

cheers
