Replacement SRAM X9 jockey wheels...?

I've trashed my drivetrain and had to replace the chain, cassette and chain rings. With everything so worn, I presume it would be a good idea to replace the jockey wheels on my SRAM X9 mech too?

I've been looking for replacements, but I'm so confused by the different options. I seem to remember that SRAM change their designs every few years, so you have to get the "right year" as well as the right model...? And some of the jockey wheels specify that they are for a "short cage".

I bought the rear mech a few years after I got the bike -- some time between 2013 to 2016(?). And I'm pretty sure I have a "long cage" mech.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the replacement jockey wheels I should buy? :?

Thanks! :D

That's not very specific.

This is for type 2/type 2.1 2x10 clutch derailleur

But perhaps you have a different model, impossible to say from your post.

last time I looked SJS had at least two different types of X9 pulley. IIRC year of mech is important, length of cage less so.

You could compare the look of your pulleys with the alternatives and maybe decide that way. Aftermarket pulleys (and some shimano ones) are suitable alternatives for some (but not all) SRAM mechs.

I fitted KCNC jobs on the X9 on my old Carrera. Everyone told me they wouldn't fit.

They were all wrong.

SRAM pulleys vary. Some models use such designs as this

in which case aftermarket pulleys won't fit.
Hence my earlier suggestion that you look carefully at the ones you have at present and act accordingly.

cheers

Thanks, all. I found what I needed.

I came across a copy of the 2018 SRAM Spare Parts List on the SJS Cycles website, which made it easy to see which models were made to identify which one I have.
