Cargo trailers with a ball hitch

I’m looking for a cargo trailer to take large/unusual shaped loads that won’t fit in my panniers. I already have a Thule chariot child trailer and the ball hitch attachment works well and I already have a couple attached to my bikes. I’m struggling to find trailers that use the same attachment.

Does anyone know of any cargo trailers the use the same axle mounted socket to ball hitch attachment?

Kind regards, David

I think you'll find that each manufacturer uses a proprietary hitch.
So if you want a hitch like a Thule, you'll need Thule parts.
So any cargo trailer modded to take a (2nd hand) Thule hitch is probably your best bet.

Luck ......... :D

Just a crazy idea?

Has anyone copies a 50mm towball and hitch and shrunk it down to say 25mm?

If not why not?

Cheers James

There is a company called Weber

They do a number of hitches that can be retrofitted to both trailers and bikes.

It is possible that this may answer your problem

Thanks for all the advice. As it’s just a simple ball I think I might just get a second hand trailer and have a go at weld/screw/nailing a ball onto the end of the attachment arm.

£8 on ebay gets you this

and spare fittings for the bike itself are only a couple of quid.

I don't think these couplings are the best available or anything but they usually work OK and are easily replaced, so that is one route you could take.
