Ti=getting old....

Post by 100%JR »

I've decided I'm going to do a Ti build.I've been mulling it over for a while and now it's going to happen.I'm not 100% decided on rim or disc(rim is in front at the moment) but I am 100% on electronic gearing.I've more or less narrowed the frame-set down and the wheels will be built by one of two local builders.I'm going for a "race" style frame with no lugs for guards/panniers as it will be my club run/social ride bike and I'm keeping my CX bike for Winter.
I'm not sure at this point whether I'll get rid of the Carbon bike and if I do i might still get another in the future but at this point Ti appeals to me.
Getting a Steel or Ti bike means I'm getting old......according to the younger riders I talk to :lol:

Well I bought the oldest of my 3 Ti frames when I was quite young and it's still my most ridden bike now I'm getting much longer in the tooth. Sometimes I think about getting something newer, but it's such an amazing frame, current state of the art isn't a great deal better than I already have, so I just keep on riding it.

And I have always been old........

Always. :cry:
The older I get the more I’m inclined to act my shoe size, not my age.

They'll learn... though it's likely they'll be old before they do.

I’m 51 but will be 52 when it’s finished.
Bought my last Carbon bike at 47.
Tourer....probably never!
