Hi,
I thought yeh ok I will read that later.....like you do.
Anyway the pros will know all this but thought I would post.
Of course there are the online instructions too.

I don’t give the valve stem a “quick, hard tug” (or indeed fasten a locknut) before inflating. If anything I do the opposite, pushing the valve stem into the tyre to make sure the tube isn’t trapped beneath the beads there. Maybe they’re afraid of the valve stem being crooked and not freely moving out under air pressure, therefore straining the inner tube around the base of the valve stem?

Not sure what they mean by “wellbase” rim, since it seems to have hooks.

Interesting all the same.

Hi,
You will hear Brucey talking about how pumping up your tyres affects the spoke tension.
I would imagine "wellbase"...........I have been using them for years never knew either, is self explanatory now you see the name.

All my HP rims which will take 120 psi tyres are the "Hook-edged rim" type :)

Wellbase are taller from the hook edge for tyre bead to bottom of well, considerably like twice the height, so HP will obviously affect stress on distorting rim and I would imagine will affect spoke tension along with splitting the rim?
