Difference Deore 610 and LX hubs?

Post by Sweep »

My recent bike tinkering/wheel fiddling/looking through old stuff/bits of mine got me wondering about this

Basically this:

https://www.spacycles.co.uk/m2b0s117p14 ... t-Hub-T610

and this:

https://www.spacycles.co.uk/m2b0s117p14 ... t-Hub-T670

Does the LX have better sealing of some sort?

I do have a set of wheels with 610 hubs.

And another on the way from Taylor Wheels.

An old set of LX and XT hubs of mine have an exernal rubber slip-on sleeve but these LX's don't seem to have.

And in truth I was never sure whether that external rubber provided good shielding or just collected grot.

Many thanks network man.

basically there is no difference anyone has found apart from the finish. I actually prefer the bright silver of the T610 to the gunmetal silver of the T670 :-)

A nice thread indeed.
From sensible knowledgeable folk.
And makes me feel especially good as I got a 610 front hub in an Evans sale for £9 the other day - need to go and pick it up - hell in London many/most places you can't get two pints for that.
The wonders of cycling engineering eh?
