Small under saddle pouch wanted

Post by fausto99 »

I’m looking for a small pouch to fit neatly under the saddle but which stays high up enough to stay out of the way of my seatpost mounted camera. It should be just big enough to hold a couple of 700C inner tubes. Finding one that doesn’t hang down seems to be a challenge.

Any recommendations?

difficult to recommend anything specific since we don't know how you saddle and camera look....?

FWIW if the intention was to carry a spare tub or just spare tubes, BITD we just wrapped said items in plastic and strapped them to the saddle rails using an old toe strap or something. Another commonly seen thing was an old water bottle in a bottle cage, with the bottle cut up so that it could be used as a tool/tube holder.

cheers

I have a couple of Topeak ones. One has a clip, and the other has straps.
Both, nice and small and fit under the rear of the saddle.

In them, I keep a couple of innertubes, a set of tyre levers, a small multitool, and a couple of CO2 canisters.

Those Topeak aero bags look much better than my current plastic bag bungee strapped to the bike :D

I have a false water bottle which has tyre levers, P repair kit , gas canisters, etc. i.e common stuff which gets transferred from bike to bike. The pouch is for tubes which tend to be different sizes for different bikes. The Topreak in the picture takes up the whole of the exposed part of the seatpost. It's difficult to tell how big they will work out on the bike when looking at them in a shop; even more so when shopping online. Do Topeak make a really small version? Maybe for two tubes some rubber bands and a toe strap would be the simplest solution?

Is this one small enough? Specialized, I think.
Photo of Mercian from 2008. I'll check to see if I still have that pouch, it could be somewhere in the shed.

This one looks like a modernised one of mine.

Scroll though and see other small ideas.

This one seems quite novel.

yes, there are plenty of much smaller seat packs than that. It is only half the story though; we still don't know how big your camera is ..?

cheers

That looks like it hangs down too much at the seatpost. The camera needs about 3-4 inches.

It all depends on what sort of frame fausto99 has.
Traditional like my Mercian, or a modern non horizontal top tube frame?

How long is your seatpin or seat post exposed?
