On my trip down under to the shaded shores of cornwall
I took my old steel hack from 1983, Koga-Miyata GentsRacer-aero, only the frame and frame pump was original, all other parts are replaced with NOS, mostly gleaned from overseas.
I did not use the frame pump to inflate the tyres but home track pump before I set off and did not use air at all over a week, I know the pump works and seals on the presta valve, but never tested it to full 120 psi.
Decided to test it out at how the other day, Bang
The screw cap plastic sheared off above the thread at about 100 psi.I think I remember doing a repair a few years ago with super glue, I just the other day superglued it together to measure it up make a sketch to hunt down a replacement screw cap, then I found some NOS pump ends on ebay.
Ok so my parts are past their sell by date.
If the ebay NOS parts are unused I only need the screw cap and use the rubber too maybe.
But anyone knowledge of how the pump end secures to the aluminium body?
There does not seem much to bite on the nos pump end, whats the ident in my aluminium body do? Its not going to bite on the pump end?
