Bike sizing advice

Ok, so I’ve narrowed down the bike I like, the Trek FX Disc 3 (thanks to the help of many people on this forum). https://www.trekbikes.com/gb/en_GB/bike ... c/p/28474/

My height is 178cm so I pressed go on large, but then I got thinking, I have a fairly long body and short legs for my height. The book between the leg test showed my inside leg as 77cm, the bike has a standover of 79.9cm, my current bike has a standover of 77/78 but in my shoes that feels comfortable with plenty to spare and even moving to the front of the frame where it is about 80cm I can feel it no doubt but it’s not uncomfortable. Do I need to switch to the medium (and the extra month wait!) obviously I need to get the best for, just a shame that coronavirus makes bikes impossible to test.
