I recently bought a few Raleigh parts that used to be a ladies bike. I’d like to roughly (at least) date it
Seller had caked frame in horrid thick black paint so can’t see any serial number & no rear wheel to check student hub date. Front wheel cleaned up nicely and has Sturmey Archer England F230 26x1 3/8 stamped into it.
Anyone recognise this?

If it has a Sturmey rear hub gear that will have a date.

You need to scape the paint and find the serial number.

If you have removed the front wheel put it back with the fixed cone on the right side. The adjustable cone goes on the left side. If it's the wrong way around the adjustable cone can self tighten due to precession and destroy the hub pretty quickly.
