Change chain set

Postby Resolution » 27 Aug 2020, 10:27am

I am riding a HP Velotechnik, Scorpion fs 26 3 wheel recumbent . fitted with a "truvativ Touro 3 ring road 30/42//52 9spd, 170 cranks, square taper.
I am trying to find a decent replacement with the rings 22/32/42 . But retaining the existing bottom bracket. But not having much luck and would appreciate some help in tracking a suitable chain set.

I recently bought a 40/33/24 square taper chainset from Spa Cycles. (It could have been 42/33/24.) 33t and 24t are the smallest sprockets that can be fitted to a 110mm and 74mm BCD spider, which is a standard size. Another bike of mine has 42/32/22, but that is Shimano Deore and not square taper.

SJS Cycles do a 104/64mm crank with a square taper.
That will let you fit your 22/32/42T triple.

Luck ....... :D

I've got 3 recently purchased 33t (110 bcd) chainrings going spare, if that will help your conundrum.
