I am not an expert on this but surely you dont need a stabilsed 5v output to charge a usb device. To get current to flow requires a potential difference so the charging voltage will be higher than the 5v usb spec otherwise charging would not occur.
At the last count:- Peugeot 531 pro, Dawes Discovery Tandem, Dawes Kingpin, Raleigh 20, Falcon K2 MTB dropped bar tourer, Longstaff trike conversion on a Falcon corsa. :D
