Did anyone ever replace the fer2002 spoke dynos double belts with one for use with smaller wheels?

I had a fer2002 spoke dyno on my Brompton for a while, but it seemed over geared and inefficient in the small wheel,:

Did anyone ever replace its double stage toothed belt gearing up with a longer single belt to gain efficiency at expense of power when driving modern Led lamps?
