Jtek Seat Post Clamp with Screw Thread to stop slipping seat posts

Post by slowster »

I've just noticed this on SJS's ebay webshop. I think this is a new product, and it looks like it's another option for people with slipping seat posts. Although the product description refers to it being used with carbon seat posts, I presume that if it can be used safely with carbon then it is suitable for ordinary aluminium seat posts. Designed for 27.2mm seat posts and 31.8mm seat tubes. No reviews as yet on SJS's website.

The regular clamp secures the seatpost in the normal way but we all know that carbon seatposts have a tendency to slip down.
The screw threaded knurled top cap closes down on the post in the same way as a drill chuck holds a bit.
- Screw-thread clamp to prevent seat posts slipping
- Suitable for use with carbon seat posts
- Seat Post Diameter 27.2mm
- Frame Clamp Diameter 31.8mm
- AL-6061 Alloy

It would be better if they just focussed on the sleeve part so that it could be used with conventional seatpost clamps, and of course, in other common sizes.
