So the PF30 bearings are extracted from the shells and remain within the cups , correct ?

The PF30 (6806) bearings are sealed bearings and the whole bearing comes out. On some frames, there is a circlip behind the bearing, which helps it seat in the correct place. You may need to take these out too, depending on what you are going to replace the PF30 with.

Link to the (rather sweary) Mr Hambini, who explains. He’s also got videos explaining how to remove and re-install.

All done.
Thanks for the encouragement.
I used a Lifeline Pro tool from Wiggle to knock out the bearings; it was very easy once I had worked out how to use the tool (no instructions supplied).

It only took two taps each side with a decent hammer- I was expecting it to be much harder.
One cup came out with the bearing the other required tapping out separately - again very easy.

I replaced like for like - FSA B3155 PF30.
Easy to install using a bearing press from ebay

I used Truloc 211 + 181 activator to secure the cups.
