Thanks all - reckon I'll start at 112 as that seems to be roughly where I end up anyway regardless of the method used to get there.

Turns out, 112 is a bit too long - the chain is so slack on small/small (not that you ever really would) that it catches before the tensioner on the outside of the bottom of the cage at the guide pulley. So, looks like 110/55" was correct all along. :roll:

Trouble is I don't have a tool for removing a masterlink and managed to injure my hand using the wrong tools. So convalescing while waiting for the right tool for the job to be delivered.
