It depends on the hole and type of tyres
Tubless the temp repair in a can works with small holes and sealing round a torn, nail etc to get home - done it many a time and driven a week locally on a leaking alloy rim that sealed perfectly until I could get to tyre shop.
Tubed tyres I run with my sons bike the gunk will seal round a thorn etc, but blows out if thorn removed.
There is larger gunk particles for off road use at farmers merchants, my experience is you ride home with air in tyre and it goes flat when cause of puncture removed.
Anyone with any experience of using those inner tube repair spray things?
