I have a very similar set, but they are not from the G.P.O.
I rounded the edges of the business end.
They are good levers but need care in use in order not to cut the tyre.

Me too. I don't know where they came from but they were in my Dad's toolbox (a set of WW2 ammo boxes lined with holly wrapping paper) when I was a teenager, so I used them. They mostly got used on a couple of old (probably 1950s, but 1930s design) roadsters given by elderly neighbours. The steel tyre levers worked alright on ballon tyres and steel Westwood rims, but were a liability on modern alloy rims.
