Best pads for TRP Spyre cable brakes?

Post by niloc »

I would like to know which (semi-metallic) pads are considered best 'allround' and recommended for TRP Spyre mechanical brakes (with Shimano rotors)

I use these, I wouldn't know whether they're the best, but I like them

I have a preference for their Kevlar (Organic) pads, they wear a bit faster, have a nicer feel and are almost silent, seems a fair trade off to me. Discobrakes have a summary of the pros and cons on their compounds

Just note that not all rotors are intended for metallic pads, some say "resin only" on them.

I've recently fitted their Copper-Free pads on the tandem where they're doing a good job. Big improvement on the original pads fitted to the Spyre.
