I mostly use walls but kickstands are a lot cheaper.

Thanks for the replies and the humour. I have decided to go for the rod rest and spray cans for Banksy styled cycling images.

And carrying around bricks and ready to use mortar do rather counteract the weight savings from titanium and carbon...

My touring bike has a steel plate brazed between the chainstays to a) allow fitting of a kickstand, and b) provide a mudguard mounting point. However, I usually rely on passing walls to lean the bike against when I want to stop...

I'd rather use a wall that wasn't moving.
