In this case (Campag 10s levers, Campag 9 or 10 front and rear derailleur, Shimano 9s cassette) it does work perfectly. I've been using that combination for over 20 years

And 9-speed cassettes are probably cheaper. So why spend extra?
Fair enough but a shiftmate costs about £30 :lol:

got it working reasonably well now. Not convinced it is the real deal. Time will tell. I had too much slack in the cable somewhere.
