I did that with my old Silca track pump, it was a leather washer, greased it both sides and it was like new! I've still got it in the garage!

I had a malfunctioning track pump once - greased the rings with some appropriate (ie O-ring friendly) grease and all was sorted.

There was nothing seriously wrong with the actual O rings.
Yes I used silicon grease on all the o-rings after inspection and reassembly. Haven’t got round to the soapy water yet.

Success. Soapy water revealed bubbles from the gauge and the top joint in the short link hose. Lots more silicon grease applied and I can now go to 110psi before I run out of compression ratio on what is quite a large dia body. Next job - new tyre following argument with a flint and recover my fiver (emergency boot) :lol:
