collect my new bike from halfords (cycle to work scheme) later tonight
:D

it was assembled by the suppliers, so won't be built by halfords, what should i do before i ride it
thinking in terms of lubrication/ safety checks/ preventative measures etc
this is why events unerve me

If it's been assembled by the manufacturer the saddle and pedals will probably need to be added so make sure that the seat post has been greased before it gest put in the frame. Also the same goes for the pedals too. It's easy to forget this in the excitement of getting a new bike!

Check that the brakes work and are adjusted, check for play in headsets. I'd also give the wheels a spin to see if they are true. Then have fun!

And pump up the tyres.

But mainly, check all the nuts and bolts for tightness.

it's an orbea, so comes with saddle & pedals, so that's one thing less to check :D
this is why events unerve me
