Lightweight headset spanners

I don't like to hound him, and I'm seeing less and less of him sadly.

Not sure they are available any more, and without the Power 16 tool, or similar, they are useless anyway. The early part of the thread was showing various designs, and I mentioned them only to add to that. I think mine were on clearance at SJS or somewhere.

I have some cone spanners that say they are laser cut......could your local laser cutter make headset spanners?

Its just that in connection with this project http://forum.ctc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=57027&hilit=+skinflints I breezed into my local laser and water-jet cutting places, and they couldn't be more helpful. I'm sure that's all anybody would need to do if they wanted anything made.

Basically, it's just an idea with dimensions, a quick twiddle with CAD, an email, and spanners come through the post! I'll start a new thread (pun!) in a few days/next week ..... after I ask nicely.

It might be basic but it's ruddy clever! I want one!
I have both Campag and Shimano threaded headsets, both modern standard locknut sizing.
if other forum members are interested, maybe set up a group buy?

I emailed my mate, and his reply:
Spanners can be replicated without trouble. I think I still have the drawing somewhere, if not we can soon rustle up another.

So things can be arranged!

I realise this subject should be in For Sale or somewhere, but it needs discussion IMO, perhaps there's other tools that people want made from flat SS that can be laser cut from a plate. Just ask and it may be able to be done. So long as it's simple and doesn't require machining.

Long time touring cyclist here and all my old bikes seem to have 1" threaded headsets.
But I've some how lost my Park RW-1 wrench so if you or anyone here have some compact wrenches for sale please let me know!

He's finished at that job now and moved onto steam locomotives at Buckfastleigh. Not conducive to bicycle engineering.

Not sure how it happened but I found both a used Park wrench and a Cool Tool original multitool in another forum.
Lots nostalgia as I used to carry a Cool Tool when I worked as a bike courier in the early 90's.
It then dawned on me, there was a series of add-on tools made and now managed to source a nos 32mm wrench.

I was going to send a PM to fenderbender asking how effective it is but I see that he hasn't been around for a long time.

Do folks think I need to carry another spanner to tighten the locknut?

From my home fumblings I have the idea that tightening the locknut can further tighten the bearing cup if you don't secure it.
