Deor XT rear mech - no SIS Adjustment screw..

Post by Hayclan »

I've purchased a Deor XT rear mech (long cage) to replace my 105 and give me a better range of gearing. Problem is there is no "SIS" Adjustment screw (or thread to accept my old one) in the mech, rather it is designed to be be adjusted at the shifter. As I have STI shifters and no adjuster on the downtube (just a lug to accept the end of the cable outer). can anyone recommend a solution?

Regards

Yes basically the screw adjuster that fine tunes the position of the cage between the sprockets by legnthening or shorting the cable - any ideas?

You can buy an adjuster that fits onto the gear cable outer as it exits the STI shifter. This means you can adjust your gears on the move. My wife has them on her Dawes Horizon.

Put adjusters on the downtube. This also allows adjustment as you ride.
