Hs110 from sjc
Last set of 451 duranos I had delivered from fed were 406 when they arrived!

Not a lot of choice :(

"Primo Comet" is probably the best tyre available in this size today. It's a slick racing style tyre, but from what I've been told extremely good. They're available in widths 28mm and 37mm

fed is my dratted phone autocorrecting sjc (go figure that one)
which was my misspelling of sjs: http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/category-Tyres--20-(451)-195.htm

Although their selection has dropped from 3 to one...

Ah yes, the dreaded autocorrect as you type

So, in total, this is what I've been able to find:

Schwalbe
HS110 in 37-451, basic tyre with just a rubber protection belt
Durano HS399 in 28-451, very good road/touring tyre, but not fat and probably not ideal for rough stuff
Some Stelvios, retailers may have old stock

Raleigh
Record 37-451, mainly from ebay sellers

Shyh Hwa
White Nylon beaded 37-451, from SJS via its ebay store only it seems

Cheng Shin
Grey Wheelchair tyre, 37-451, from www.wheelchair-ramps.co.uk

Primo
Comet, but don't know where to get it from. HELP?!

Aren't 451 still used for bmx racing? If so perhaps look for bmx shops?

It looks as though Chain Raction stock this size but they don't seem to quote the ISO sizes, just the inches, which is a recipe for misunderstanding.

Exactly. So how do we figure out which 20" tyre is for a 451 and which is for a 406?

Don't trust CRC - not unless you phone them and get them to bring the tyre up to the office and look at it.

Last time I checked they had ZERO 451 tyres available - even the durano (which they advertise as a 451) was in fact a 406

I have suggested that they put ISO sizes online and make them searchable, but who would want to buy a tyre based on it's size???

Another source for the Schwalbe Durano and the HS110 in 451 mm is West Country Recumbents, based in Derbyshire http://www.wrhpv.com
http://www.wrhpv.com/tyres/451/index.html

I got prompt delivery and clearly labelled tyre sizing.

Free postage makes their price for the Durano 451mm the best: fitted one on my Pacific Reach folder which came with Primo Comets. The Durano is better IMO, the Comets are not too good in the wet, quick wearing and not very puncture resistant once they get part worn. Shame the Durano does not come as a folding tyre like the Stelvio did.

EDIT: just to add some more 451mm options, there is the Maxxis DTH: http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Maxxis-DTH-BMX-Tyre_30108.htm in 1 1/8" and 1 3/8", a friend uses these as a winter tyre on his 451mm equiped Moulton APB, plus the slightly knobblier Odyssey Red Racer: http://www.mailordercycles.co.uk/produc ... CESSORIES_ and here you get a choice of black or red http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/product/103303.html Normally if the size is 20 x inch fractions it should be a 451mm unless its made by Continental who only make 406mm despite using inch fraction sizing

EDIT 2: if you feeling like splashing out you could order the Panaracer Minits Lite direct from Japan, £37.37 each before you add postage! http://www.alexscycle.com/en/panaracer- ... rrency=gbp

Do you know if they ship to Australia? There's a bit of a drought when it comes to good bicycle bits.
