Changing from downtube shifters to STI

Post by herzog »

I'm putting some STI shifters on a frame which previously had braze on downtube friction shifters. Once I take the friction shifters off, there's no housing for the new STI cable on the downtube. Is there a product available which would screw into the existing braze on fitting, allowing the new cables to be housed. Or do I have to knock something up in the garage?

Adapters for Braze-ons from SJS. May be worth shopping around or even a Wanted ad.

The STI shifters came second hand via a friend, so no braze on cable stops. I've ordered some from SJS and I'm looking forward to trying them out :D
