Ribble Audax- Any good?

Post by alpinist »

On my search for a new audax bike I found this, which seems very good value. How does it ride, and could you fit a rack for light touring? Thanks.

I've reviewed mine in the goods and services section if you want to have a look alpinist.

It is good value and you can fit a rack for light touring but it's more closely related to a race bike than a tourer in geometry and riding position so light fast touring is probably excellent. Mine's used almost entirely for audax up to 200k which i think it's ideal for.

Thanks for that, so comfy for day rides rather than tours?

I guess that depends how you like to tour, if it's fairly leisurly you probably won't like the race orientated riding position but if you're travelling light and fairly quickly then it's probably fine.

What's your previous experience? An ex racer would feel at home but someone used to say a Dawes Galaxy might hate it's riding position.
