On which there is "religious" disagreement

Post by Chuck Glider »

I thought it would be fun to gather together all those bike tech things that folks disagree on, with almost the fervour of faith.

So to get the ball rolling here are a few:

1. Whether to grease square taper crank axle stubs (on which there is a simply amazing separate thread).

2. How to clean and lube the chain. Sounds so simple, yet seems to cause violent disagreement.

3. Campag is or isn't better than Shimano.

4. Whether Shimergo is a waste of time.

5. Which way to line up quick release levers when closed.

Come on, gather yours here! It's amazing to me that 2 isn't resolved after a century since the invention of the safety bicycle!

6. Whether integrated headsets are flawed design compared to the standard external cup design, or indeed, whether this was all a myth / marketing puff started by Chris King.
