Suntour Cyclone Jockey Wheel replacement

Post by pubrunner »

Hi all,

I'd like to replace the jockey wheels on my Suntour Cyclone MKII GT (long cage) derailleur; can anyone give me any pointers ?

I'm not sure how to split the cage to do it . . . . . . . and then put it together again so that it'll work :D .

Thank you for any advice

IIRC the top pulley bolt unscrews at the back using a chainring bolt-type peg spanner, and disassembling the pivot from the outside doesn't get you to where you want to get to (not by itself, anyway).

The pulleys themselves have (IIRC) larger holes through than the standard 5mm ones, so not all replacement pulleys will fit without modification.

may be worth looking on the 'disraeli gears' website BTW

hth

cheers
