Norman Invader frame

Post by GOHughes »

I have a Norman Invader frame, which I rescued from a neighbour who was taking it t the tip. I offered him some cash for it but he said he was happy enough to give it to me to save himself a trip.

I would like to restore the frame and build it up into a hub geared bike with north road style h'bars. I don't know if this would be possible given the various clearances/dimensions etc. for the B/B hubs, stem etc.

As the frame was built for 27" wheels I thought that one possibility would be to use Sturmey Archer hub drum brakes, thereby avoiding the difficulty of finding 27" rims and brakes with the right reach.

Also, does anyone have any views on the relative merits of enamel vs powder coating and the availability of 531 decals?
