mtb rear derailler and compact chainset

Post by ridesurlys »

Just checking if my theory works and what if any problems people experienced. I have got a 9 speed tiagra compact at the moment with a 28 rear cassette. I was planning on putting a 32 on the rear with a deore long cage rear derailleur. Will this be as simple as a swap or am i missing something. Thanks

Should be a simple swap.
Just check the chain is still long enough to reach over big ring and largest sprocket.
You'll never know if you don't try it.
