But that doesn't match Mick's specifications, the bit about being meant for a Moulton-sized wheel in particular.

Mick said he was thinking of fitting a dynohub to his Moulton and he specified that it must be 100mm OLN, silver, 28h, and for rim brakes. The PV8 meets those requirements :D I think Brucey established upthread that a hub for 700c wheels will work fine on smaller wheels, but I guess it's up to Mick to decide if he wants to spend more on a hub designed for 20" wheels rather than one that isn't but will work anyway!

I've got 3 of them SP PV8s.

Oldest is 4 years and at least 20,000+ miles in every all year round weather that Snowdonia can muster. Second oldest started making a creaking noise after 2 years and out of warranty, with at least 7500+ miles - sent back to Ison the distributor for an exchange reconditioned hub at a cost of £25. In fact I got a new hub as they didn't have a silver 32 hole to exchange :D ). The third is built up into a 20" CR18, 28 hole for the TSR Moulton (when I get around to deciding where to mount the Edelux2 Headlamp on a TSR  ).

All three are PV8 - even the 20" wheel one. I see no reason (with a bit of investigation) why it won't perform with the smaller wheels. I am prepared to risk it and find out.

£60 from good old Spa in 28 hole and silver :D http://www.spacycles.co.uk/m2b0s133p3036/SP-DYNAMO-PV-8

I don't think it matters much that way - the dynamo will just be rotating faster for a given speed with the smaller wheels. In fact that may even give better lighting going up long steep hills which may be advantageous in MickFland! :D

Using an SV-8 in a big wheel may not be such a good idea as you probably won't generate so much power (the Bike24 link earlier quotes 2.4W instead of 3W).

Sturmey do one.

Does it come with a QR?

No probs either way, as I have a couple of spare front QRs.

I got mine from Spa. Doesn't come with a quick release. It is a good bit if kit for the money though.

So is mine ,
Mick F does the Moulton have narrow hubs ? This will determin which ones 70mm or 100 mm.
