Help please with cottered spindle

Post by barbelfisher »

Hi there, I have an an old 531 Raleigh that I am re- building, it came with a cottered bottom bracket in excellent condition. I have a Williams single speed chainset I need to fit, but the existing axle is to short. Would anyone be able to offer advice on the correct length I may need or how to determine it. I have scoured the Internet without much luck.

Kind regards

Theres an ebay seller ' Hard to Find' will put you right, he had loads of cotteted spindles last time I enquired. Very knowledgeable too. I'll find you a link in a bit.
