Cateye Volt 300 vs Smart 700 Lumen or...?

I bought a Cateye Volt 300 for my stepson earlier in the year. I've recently borrowed it, and been very impressed by the build quality and weight / light / run-time. That said, the beam is fairly tight, and I'd prefer something a little wider for some off-road use. The USB charging facility is also a very useful feature.

A little research has led me to the "Smart 700", which is also charged via USB:

The Amazon reviews would seem to indicate that the beam is "fairly wide and circular - good for off-road". Does anyone have experience of using it? How is the build and beam quality?

Also, are spare brackets available for the Smart 700, as they are for the Volt 300? I always like to be able to get spares so that I can swap between bikes, or in case a bike or bracket is stolen.

Finally, if anyone has experience of any alternative lights of similar quality and brightness which are USB chargable, I'd love to hear your opinions.
