It sounds to me like Jenny, pronounced the Norwegian way (the 'j' has a 'y' sound), which is more like 'yanny' than laurel, but quite either. Unlike most visual illusions, where I can see both / all, here I cannot hear anything else, no matter what I do.

First time I heard this at was a distinct and undeniable "laurel". Every time since it has been "yanny".

I can only assume some differences in bass/treble/tone of the speakers on various devices.

I cant see how Laurel and Yanny can sound the same. The only thing they have in common is 2 syllables
Lor v Yan ?!?

looks to me like there is an evolutionary advantage to not confuse laurel with yanny?

I heard Laurel when I watched a late night comedian tlaking about it yesterday. It was weird that it sounded that same, only I heard Laurel, instead of Jenny.
