There were a couple of successful films from GoC, Yorkshire, some years ago:
Sounding Brassed Orf and The Full Monty, the latter was especially succe$$ful financially, it cheered people up after the Princess of Hearts died

A movie mogul declined to finance TFM, he thought it was too similar to SB

'I had a chance to fund a film where Yorkshirepersons take their clothes off, I was stupid enough to go for a film where they blow @#%€* trumpets', he bleated

Only other time I've ever heard that quote was from the Florida Democratic candidate Andrew Gillum in the lead-up to the 2018 US midterm elections - his way of saying he wasn't going to get into a slagging match with Trump...

I think you mean "Brassed Off" with Pete Postlethwaite? About a Barnsley Colliery Brass band.Loosely based on the quite famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band. Not a bad film.(I accept it may have had a different title in Europe?)
I must be the only person in Sheffield who has not seen the Full Monty! On Holiday at Lake Garda in 2003 and the lady owner of the on-site shop asked me where in the UK I was from and when I said Sheffield she told me she'd been here for a few days to do the Full Monty Tour.....very strange as it was filmed in some less than desirable parts of the City :|
