Only fit for the scrap bin, but you could have difficulty getting them off.

The shoes are in a similar condition. It's well beyond removing the cleats being a feasible, never mind worthwhile, option.

Re: Dead cleats?
Usually if the cleats are worn that bad then the shoes are junk as well as the Shoes are worn as well so new cleats will stand proud.

Re: Dead cleats?
I say there's at least one more ride in those cleats - to the Shimano shoes graveyard!
Re: Dead cleats?
You have years of life left in them. A few thousand more miles and they may resemble my trusted footwear.
At the last count:- Peugeot 531 pro, Dawes Discovery Tandem, Dawes Kingpin X3, Raleigh 20 stowaway X2, 1965 Moulton deluxe, Falcon K2 MTB dropped bar tourer, Rudge Bi frame folder, Longstaff trike conversion on a Giant XTC 840
Re: Dead cleats?
Having seen rjb's pics I now realise that I have decided to retire mine too soon .
Checking a few other forum posts my shoes and cleats are about ten years old, with a guestimate of around 20-25,000 miles of use. It was about three and a half years ago that I got some replacements for these because they were looking and feeling a bit worn.
The replacements were not as comfy and have largely sat at the back of the cupboard until a few months ago when I relegated these to short trips only.

What are us toeclip fanatics to make of this story?
Suppose that this room is a lift. The support breaks and down we go with ever-increasing velocity.
