Belgium is a great sporting nation.
Re: Things only a cyclist would think...
'Things only a cyclist would think', surely not , perhaps football fans might think likewise.

That may be something else only a cyclist would think. Man City moved nearly twenty years ago.

, The Etihad or 'City of Manchester Stadium' (never noticed it being called that on the telly) of course, I'm still in the 8 speed era in most things. Goal ! thirdcrank.

Re: Things only a cyclist would think...
The biggest difference between my thinking and non-cyclists that I notice is the meaning of distance.
I ride my bike 10 miles to work and non-cyclist colleagues think it is an achievement. Cyclist colleagues often have nothing to say about it, but if they do, it is about the bike, the route, or the weather.
Similarly, if I talk about last year's tour, non-cyclists want to know how far (and are impressed when I tell them). Cyclists ask which route I took, or want to know if I found any good camping spots.

Why are all bicycles female? (Despite contrary evidence of a top tube).
Re: Things only a cyclist would think...
"French" Fries for one.
Then there's Charlemagne, the Breughels, Rubens, Solvay (he of the Process), Van Dyck, Sax (O'Phone), Simenon, Magritte, Jacques Brel, Audrey Hepburn, Jacky Ickx, Eddie Wossname, Hergé...
And "feelthy French novels" were originally written in London then taken over to Belgium for printing, because the laws there weren't so draconian and they probably didn't care about English anyway.
