Quick one - does anyone know if the above has paths suitable for small kids on bikes? Don’t mean the MTB loops...

Not sure about Philips Park per se but the area know these days as Drinkwater Park down by the river between Agecroft & the M60 has plenty of fairly flat well-made paths. You can also cross the M60 & follow the Outwood Trail out & back along the course of an old railway line north (I've only been as far as Ringley Road that way. I've ridden them happily on 28mm tyres.

The Transport for Greater Manchester cycle route leaflets can be helpful in local route planning - they cover most of the routes suitable for cycling, rather than just the mountain bike loops. AFAIK you can't download the TFGM maps but hard copies can be requested from the website https://tfgm.com/cycle-maps-order-form
